Workout Tips

There are a number of tips that will help make your workout more effective. Perhaps surprisingly, one of them is to make sure to replace your walking sneakers regularly; say, at least by every 250-500 miles that you’ve walked or ran. Many tips come down to some basic common sense. For instance, making sure that your exercises are something you enjoy doing is a good way to stay motivated. Making very simple choices, like taking the stairs instead of the elevator or parking further from the store, will allow you to get more exercise and be able to exercise with low negative impacts. Changing your workout every 4-6 weeks will also help prevent a plateau and may help to keep you motivated as it will prevent your workout from becoming too dull and familiar. Variety is, after all, the spice of life!

There are some other simple tips that will help improve your workout and strengthen the benefits. For example, avoid leaning too heavily on the guardrails of cardio equipment. Make sure to stretch before and, especially, after every workout, as this will benefit your results greatly. The stretching afterward should be the biggest priority, so focus on that if you can’t stretch beforehand for whatever reason. When stretching before, it is also helpful to warm up for a few minutes, as it will help your muscles loosen up. Finally, while you are working out, try to measure the intensity of your workout, through your heart rate, exertion level, or other methods or measurement.
