It is also a common mistake to rely too much on fast food – even “healthier” options that are still often full of fat – or to not limit consumption of alcohol, as these have a tendency to sabotage the larger efforts. On the other hand, you should make sure not to starve yourself or skip meals, as failure to consistently feed yourself will only slow your metabolism and make your fitness goals harder to achieve.
Another thing you should make sure you do is vary your routine somewhat. Otherwise, it is easy to become bored with it and lose motivation, not to mention your muscles will “adapt” to your routine eventually and fail to respond as you want them to. Some variation in your routine, such as changing the order of the exercise or the number of sets and reps that you do, will help keep your muscles on their toes.
Make sure not to under OR over-exercise. Either is harmful, as the latter can stress your body to a point beyond where it is helpful, and the former simply will not give you the results you want.
