Sinus infections can be incredibly irritating things for a lot of people, especially if they suffer from them chronically all year long. And unfortunately even something as simple sounding as a sinus infection can lead to some pretty serious complications if they aren’t treated immediately – you never want to allow one to continue for long periods of time. Here are a few symptoms to watch out for.
One of the first symptoms that people generally begin to see when they have a sinus infection is the feeling of stuffiness in the head and facial area. If you aren’t sure what you are looking for, try pressing underneath each eye socket on the cheek bone. If you feel any tenderness you should schedule an appointment with your doctor so that you can hopefully rule out an infection. You can also try pressing in the middle of your forehead.
Yellow or greenish discharge can also be an indication of a sinus infection – so check next time you blow! While this definitely isn’t the only sign that you may have an infection brewing, it’s a good reason to book an appointment with your physician so that you can get treatment for whatever is causing the discoloration.
Many people who are experiencing a sinus infection also start feeling incredibly fatigued. A classic sign of this is not being able to drag yourself up and out from under the covers in the morning even after you’ve had plenty of sleep the night before. When you have a sinus infection it puts a pretty heavy toll on the body while your immune system is trying to get rid of it.
You should always remember to consult with your doctor if you suspect you may have any of the classic symptoms of a sinus infection – doing this early on can save you from a lot of regret in the future.
